Latest GeForce Nvidia GPUs

Nvidia recently took the world by announcing their new 10 Series GPUs.

As Nvidia says " Gaming Perfected"

The first to go on the floor was GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 but these were Desktop GPUs. These cards were initially introduced as Founders Edition GPUs, which were designed and built by Nvidia themselves and not by its authorized board partners. The GeForce GTX 1080 was first to have vapor chamber cooling. The Founders Edition cards were priced higher than Standard Edition Cards.

The micro-architecture of the GeForce 10 series is named Pascal, the 17th century French mathematician Blaise Pascal and was presented on May 6, 2016.

What GTX 10 Series has New!!!

  • CUDA Compute Capability 6.0 (GP100 only), 6.1 (GP102, GP104, GP106, GP107)
  • DisplayPort 1.4
  • HDMI 2.0b
  • Fourth generation Delta Color Compression
  • PureVideo Feature Set H hardware video decoding HEVC Main10 (10bit), Main12 (12bit) & VP9 hardware decoding (GM200 & GM204 did not support HEVC Main10/Main12 & VP9 hardware decoding)
  • HDCP 2.2 support for 4K DRM protected content playback & streaming (Maxwell GM200 & GM204 lack HDCP 2.2 support, GM206 supports HDCP 2.2)

  • GPU Boost 3.0
  • Simultaneous Multi-Projection
  • HB SLI Bridge Technology
  • New memory controller with GDDR5X & GDDR5 support (GP102, GP104)
  • Dynamic load balancing scheduling system.
  • Instruction-level preemption.In graphics tasks.
  • Triple buffering implemented in the driver level.

Now these new GPUs had to make their way to Notebooks. The gaming Notebooks are more than popular in modern times. A decade ago Desktops were constantly considered as gaming over Notebooks.
The Successor to the Pascal GPUs will be Volta, named after the 18th century Italian physicist Alessandro Volta.

The Mobile GPUs

GeForce GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1070, GeForce GTX 1060, GeForce GTX 1050,
GeForce GTX 1050Ti.
Where 1080/1070 has SLI support whereas other models lack this support. Where SLI allows you to use 2-GPUs at the same time to increase your fire-power.
The GeForce GTX 1050/1050Ti are the entry-level Models that would be featured in most of the gaming Notebooks in the coming days.

These were also the first GPUs to incorporate the much hyped technology VR(Virtual Reality). Using VR we can have real life gaming experience. All the GPUs use GDDR5 RAM support.

Asus Predator 21x is one of the Notebook that uses Dual-GTX 1080 with that massive 21inch Curved Display and Mechanical Keyboard.

The other notable OEM to incorporate the 10 series GTX powerhouse would be no other than DELL. Their gaming notebooks AlienWare are famous for excellent performance and customization.

Dell Also announced their newest offering in the XPS line. They announced the new XPS-15 prior to which they were selling only XPS-13 as premium offering in certain regions such as India. This one boasts of using GTX-1050

Dell introduced Infinity Edge Display some time back and this is making a return in this new XPS-15 models as well. Infinity Edge Display(as official name by Dell) gets rid of bezels on the display and makes it looks stunning beautiful. Well its not clear whether they going to give this very 15 inch model to Indian Market or not also as of now.

The GPU Chart

Comparatively the number of Notebooks that incorporate these GPUs are very few right now in the market and that too at very few regions, the coming days would certainly increase their numbers, They would also be more cheaper in coming days. The desktop counter parts however can be bought easily as they are sold separately.
But of course you will need to lighten your wallet a little bit more than any predecessor Nvidia GPUs out there, but latest or not if they get your job done that is all that matters. After all not every one counts the frame rate while playing a their favorite titles!!!!!
