Windows 8.1 to be released on 17th October

Microsoft's updated windows version 8.1 an upgrade to already available Windows 8 is to available soon for consumers as it is already is available for OEMs(Original Equipment Manufacturer) as RTM(Release To Manufacturing) release.Build 9471 is the test version for RTM.




Windows 8.1 Will be having quite a few additions to already available windows 8.

  • Microsoft has made some changes to the UI. Through a new row of three dots, users can bring up an application bar for changing the settings in Mail, Calendar, and People.
  • New apps such as Food & Drink and Health & Fitness have also made it into Build 9471.
  • A default start menu is added which was missing in Windows 8 and most of people who migrated from windows 7 was annoyed about that and Now Microsoft has given it...
  • Also as previewed at BUILD, SkyDrive is now completely integrated with the Photos app. Facebook and Flickr are absent, however.

So lets wait for the official release of the OS and if you are so much impatient then you can  always go an internet search and grab a RTM copy of the OS and give it a try...
